Regulation Smegulation

If you have any interest in the government keeping its hands out of your food and away from your farm animals, read Sharon Astyk's post (and Everything I Want To Do Is Illegal by Joel Salatin). It's important that we all take an active interest in the plight of small farmers as worldwide economic downturn will probably result in the necessity of strong local food systems. This is impossible if the government continues to place firmer and harsher (and sillier) regulations on small farmers and artisans, which result in much higher startup and business costs. NAIS is a particularly noxious subject. Be informed and active in the agricultural sphere. We need you.

I saw her post and Wendell Berry's comments. Yes, this is a crucial issue!
