oiseau et chateau

I'm in the library slogging through Les Travailleurs de la mer by Victor Hugo (actually "slogging" is a bit harsh--it's quite a good book, but slow reading as there are lots of words I have to look up), and I thought I'd share a photo with you. I don't know why I like this photo so much. It's grey on grey, no contrast; by the laws of photography this is a horrible photo. But it's one of my favorites so far. Something about the grandeur, the immovable, unshakeable stone of the chateau and the tiny, brittle bird flying from the ledge really strikes me. I hope you like it too.
