It looks like something from another planet (or me when I wake up in the morning), but really it's just a less-humble cauliflower called a romanecso. A market find. I've been looking for one of these for years and had to come to France to find one. This is in lieu of cheese photos. I didn't take my camera to market this past week because it was raining too much. But there will be many, many more photos to come, and you'll get sick of looking at cheese.

I love reading your blog and seeing France through your eyes. Your entries are so specific, but yet simplistic - not clouded by unnecessary refrain. It is so enjoyable and unpretentious. You are an amazing writer, and it is exciting to get a glimpse inside your head. I miss you greatly. Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience with us.
